Composition: Each capsule contains 400mg Tanacetum parthenium herb powder.

Pharmacological classification: Category D Western Herbal Medicine

Pharmacological action: 2.9 Other Analgesic

Indications: Herbal medicine that assists in soothing the respiratory mucosa. Assists in the treatment of migraines, headaches, dysmenorrhoea, arthritis, fever, muscle tension and pain.

Contra-indications: Do not use when pregnant or breastfeeding. Feverfew is contra-indicated for persons on anti-clotting medication.

Warnings: Not to be used by persons on anti-coagulation therapy, warfarin or aspirin. Avoid if you have known allergies to plants in the Asteraceae family.

Drug Interaction: Feverfew interacts with blood-thinners such as warfarin (Coumadin), clopidogrel (Plavix), or aspirin, increasing the action.

Feverfew interacts with medications that are broken down by the liver.

Pregnancy and Lactation: Do not use in pregnancy and while breast feeding

Dosage and directions for use: Take one to two capsules twice daily for two to three weeks or as prescribed after meals.

Before taking Feverfew for arthritis or any other condition, please ensure that the condition has been diagnosed by a practitioner.

Should arthritis not improve within 6 weeks, please consult your practitioner. Should migraine not improve within 1 week, please consult your practitioner. Should recurring migraine attacks not improve within 4 weeks, please consult your practitioner.

Should fever, headaches and / or pain not improve within 24 hours, please consult your practitioner.

Should muscle stiffness not improve within 2 weeks, please consult your practitioner.

Side-effects and special precautions: Do not take on an empty stomach.

Feverfew may cause minor gastric irritation if high doses are taken on an empty stomach. Other symptoms include: abdominal pain, indigestion, gas, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and nervousness.

Rebound pain symptoms may be experienced after long term use.
