Composition: Each capsule contains Agathosma betulina powder 370mg.

Pharmacological classification: Category D Western Herbal Medicine

Pharmacological action: 18.5 Genito-Urinary system, Antiseptics

Indications: Herbal medicine to assist the function of the bladder, kidneys, prostate gland and digestive system. Assists in the treatment of bladder infections and in eliminating excess fluid.

Contra-indications: Avoid the use of Buchu before and during menstruation as it can increase menstrual flow.
Buchu can cause stomach and kidney irritation.
Buchu is not recommended during pregnancy as it can act as an abortive.
Buchu might slow blood clotting. Taking Buchu along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding.
Some medications that slow blood clotting include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Warnings: Ensure that the condition has been diagnosed by a practitioner.

Drug interaction: Lithium: Interaction of Buchu can increase drug effect and toxicity of Lithium. Monitor use.
